The first annual Old Fourth Ward Park Arts Festival is this Saturday and Sunday in the Historic Fourth Ward Park.  The festival will feature fine arts and crafts featuring 150+ artists including fine painters, photographers, sculptors, leather and metal craft persons, glass blowers, jewelers and more.  There will also be a street market, children’s play area, local food trucks and live music.

The festival runs from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Festival proceeds will benefits a scholarship fund for local artists administered by the Georgia Foundation for Public Spaces.

The festival is a great way to see the national award winning Historic Fourth Ward Park.  The 17 acre park starts at North Avenue directly across from the Ponce City Market and continues south to Freedom Parkway.  The park features walking paths, greenspace, a two acre lake used for storm water control, an amphitheater, a playground and a splash pad.  There is a second section of the park located on the Beltline that features a skate park.  Both sections will be connected in the future to allow access from the main park to the Beltline.
