The 14th annual Kirkwood Spring Fling and Tour of Homes is this weekend. The first Spring Fling was held in 2002 as a social event sponsored by the Kirkwood Neighbors’ Organization, and it included a picnic and softball game. In 2005, the Tour of Homes was added along with many other activities and events, and this event has become the major revenue source for the neighborhood organization.
The festival will be held in the heart of Kirkwood at Bessie Branham Park located at the corner of Delano Drive and Kirkwood Avenue. Festival activities will include a 5K road race, an artist market, live mural painting, children’s activities under the urban tree house, live music, a BBQ cook off, food from some of Atlanta’s favorite food trucks and much more.
The Tour of Homes will showcase seven craftsman style homes. See the results of loving renovations and new additions, enjoy the tree-lined streets and home gardens, get interior design ideas from classic to funky-chic, and best of all, meet the people who make Kirkwood such a great neighborhood. The tour will be held Saturday and Sunday, while the festival will be held exclusively on Saturday.
