The 11th annual Grant Park Summer Shade Festival is this weekend. The festival takes place in Historic Grant Park, Atlanta’s oldest public park, and features an Artist Market with more than over 100 juried and non-juried artists, two music stages with over 35 scheduled performances and a Kids Zone featuring activities and entertainment for the younger set. Food and beverages will be available throughout the festival. New to the festival this year is Go Grant Park – a showcase of Grant Park and neighboring organizations, attractions and businesses.
The festival kicks off Saturday morning with the Adams Realty Run for the Park 5K. The route is through historic Grant Park allowing runners and walkers to enjoy this beautiful neighborhood while raising money for the Grant Park Conservancy. On Sunday, the festival will open with the weekly Grant Park Farmers Market. Festival hours are 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
