“We saw the house and I immediately loved it,” said Damla Tayfun Calapkulu, the new owner of this stunning, redesigned property in Atlanta. “Whenever I thought about it I got butterflies. I love the work that Rick (Bennett) did in the house.”
Rick Bennett, Epic Development’s director for design and construction, knew exactly what to do with the house as soon as he first saw it. Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, Bennett created an original Epic Development design, which is a style he calls Modern Prairie. The home, with an open floor plan on a natural wooded setting with huge windows, decks and outdoor living areas, overlooks a meandering creek and 25 foot waterfall. The six bedroom, four and one-half bath house got a complete makeover.
“We completely redesigned the second floor roof, creating a different style for the home,” said Bennett. “We added new hard coat stucco and stone veneer to the exterior, installed all new Anderson windows, completely renovated the kitchen and baths, and opened the foyer and installed floating stairs.”
Calapkulu and her husband own STONEPRESS and they also have a real appreciation for the stone/tile work Epic Development did in the home.
“As I live in it, I like it even more. The details in the kitchen cabinets (rail system) are amazing – all the extras are wonderful and I love the window panes,” said Calapkulu. “Everything in the home is high quality, and I love the Mediterranean feel with all the outdoor living space. We love eating, playing and living outside.”
