The 13th annual Decatur BBQ, Blues and Bluegrass Festival is this Saturday, August 17th, at Harmony Park located in Downtown Oakhurst. The festival will feature BBQ from local restaurants including Fox Brothers, Black Tie BBQ, Williamson Bros. Bar-B-Q and Miss P’s Kitchen. This year’s music lineup includes Larkin Poe, Randall Bramblett, The Electromatics, Seven Handle Circus and Beverly “Guitar” Watkins.
The entrance fee is $10 but don’t forget to bring extra cash for BBQ and beer. Proceeds go to the newly formed Barbeque, Blues & Bluegrass Festival Small Grant Program which reinvests the money into the community. Previous benefactors include the Decatur Preservation Alliance, Decatur Active Living, the Community Center of South Decatur and the Oakhurst Neighborhood Association.
Parking is limited at the park, so the best way to get to the festival is by an Easy Living Pedicab. Pedicabs will be available at the East Lake MARTA Station,and Oakhurst residents can take one from their home to the festival.
