The dogwoods will be in full bloom this weekend at Piedmont Park for the 79th annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival. The festival begins on Friday and continues through Sunday and features a juried fine artist market including sculpture, paintings, pottery, jewelry and much more. The festival will also feature the best 117 works of art from the Atlanta High School Art Exhibition which received over 700 entries from talented young artists throughout Atlanta and Georgia.
Music has become an essential feature of the festival, and this year will be no different with two stages featuring a diverse musical line up. In addition to fine art and music, the festival features a Kids Village with a rock climbing wall, inflatables, arts and crafts and face painting.
Although, our four legged friends are not allowed in the festival area, the 25th annual Disc Dog Southern Nationals Qualifier Tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday at The Meadow off of 1oth Street.
