spring festival on ponce

Spring festival season kicks off this weekend with the Spring Festival on Ponce in Olmsted Linear Park .  The festival will stretch from Oakdale Road to Briarcliff Road and will feature over 125 artists with a focus on metro Atlanta and Georgia artists.  The festival will also feature live entertainment, children’s activities and food and beverages from some of Atlanta’s favorite food trucks and vendors.

The Olmstead Linear Park is located along Ponce de Leon Avenue in Historic Druid Hills and consists of five segments:   Oak Grove, Shadyside, Virgilee, Dellwood and Springdale.  You can learn more about each segment online with the virtual park tour.  The Olmstead Linear Park was designed by Atlanta businessman Joel Hurt in the late 1800′s who also designed parks around the country including Central Park in New York and the Biltmore Estate.  The park is managed and maintained by the Olmsted Linear Park Alliance.

Epic Development is currently building a Mediterranean inspired home near Olmsted Park in Virginia Highland.  This home will feature five bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths including a guest suite on the main level.  The home opens to a two story foyer and features hardwood floors throughout the main level.  The gourmet kitchen will feature custom wood cabinets, solid surface countertops with tile backsplash, commercial grade appliances and a walk-in pantry.  The kitchen has an oversized island that overlooks the family room with fireplace which opens to a covered porch.  Additional main level features include formal dining room with butler’s pantry, attached two car garage, mudroom and laundry room.

The second floor features the master suite with a luxurious master bathroom, three additional bedrooms with adjoining baths and a loft/playroom that opens to the roof terrace that overlooks the front yard.  The home has a full basement which would be perfect for a family room, a media room and an additional guest suite.
