Streetcar Map

If you drive down Edgewood Avenue in the Old Fourth Ward, you will see the track being layed for the new Atlanta Streetcar System.  Work has been going on underground over the past year to prepare the streets for the track, and it will be just one more year before the first streetcars travel from the Old Fourth Ward to the heart of Downtown. The streetcars will travel along Edgewood and Auburn Avenues to Jackson Street, and will make a loop around Downtown via Peachtree Street to International Blvd to the edge of Centennial Olympic Park and down Luckie Street.

The East-West route is just the beginning of the Streetcar project. A North-South route from the Brookhaven MARTA station to Fort McPherson is planned and will be completed as funding becomes available.

We are excited about the Streetcar Project, as it adds another connection for several Atlanta neighborhoods including the Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Downtown and the Fairlie-Poplar District.  Furthermore, residents along the newly completed East Side Trail of the Beltline will be able to walk to the Old Fourth Ward and catch a streetcar to Downtown.  This growth is exciting as it finally creates an atmosphere where residents don’t have to depend on a car to move around the city.

Additionally, those interested in purchasing one of our properties will be pleased to learn that our newest townhome community development at Irwin Street will also be located within walking distance of the new Streetcar line.  View all the details of our current listings here.  For more information about homeownership or real estate investment in Atlanta call Jim LaVallee at 404-847-9080 or write Jim@EpicDevelopment.com.
