The 2012 holiday season kicks off this weekend with two highly anticipated annual events. The 2012 Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Christmas House benefiting the Alliance Theatre opens today and runs through December 9th. The home is located at 4775 Dudley Lane in the heart of Chastain Park. The New England Style Farmhouse features a stone and brick exterior with multiple entrances, peaked rooflines and graceful columns. The interior has been decorated for the holidays by 13 of Atlanta’s finest designers.
On Saturday, The Atlanta Botanical Garden opens its holiday light show, Garden Lights, Holiday Nights, with over one million twinkling lights over the garden’s 30 acres. The Garden is adding two new lighting effects this year including “Starry Night Walk” featuring dozens of swirling stars twinkling along the walkway inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting. The ever popular “Orchestral Orbs” – a one-of-a-kind topiary light show choreographed to holiday music returns to the great lawn this year. The light show runs nightly through January 5th.
