According to real estate data firm, RealtyTrac, the U.S. recorded 442,117 foreclosure filings in the first quarter of 2013, a 23% drop from a year ago and the lowest level since the second quarter of 2007.  Last month, banks repossessed 43,597 properties, the lowest since September 2007 when repossessions topped 100,000 a month.  “We’re getting back to normal and will be there by next year,” said Daren Blomquist, Vice President at RealtyTrac.

We’ve noticed a decrease of the number of properties at the monthly foreclosure sales which is causing some properties to be sold above retail prices.  For more information about homeownership or real estate investment in Atlanta call Jim LaVallee at 404-847-9080 or write Jim@EpicDevelopment.com.
