On Saturday evening, Epic Development was recognized with two Gold OBIE  Awards by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council at the 33rd Annual OBIE Awards Dinner.  The OBIE Awards, named after the obelisk shape of the actual award given, are the premier awards in of Atlanta’s residential building industry.

We received a Gold OBIE in the Best Building Design – Under 2,500 Square Feet category for our home at 229 Corley Street in the Old Fourth Ward.

This infill urban home faced numerous challenges in design and construction resulting from the 27 foot wide lot width and the narrow one-way street with limited parking.  Despite the site constraints and zoning restrictions, a modern, three story home was constructed and the design allowed for off-street parking for two automobiles.  Construction was quite difficult with only 3 foot side yard set backs and the existence of two adjacent homes.  Despite these hurdles, we delivered a modern home that is architecturally intriguing and built with the highest quality craftsmanship.

We also received a Gold OBIE in the Single Family Detached Urban Redevelopment/Revitalization – $300,000 – $449,999 Category for our home at 317 Fortune Street which is also located in the Old Fourth Ward.

This Modern Prairie style home is an excellent example of good design and quality construction.  The finished home features an oversized two car garage with ample storage, a very open floor plan on the main level which makes the home feel much larger than its actual size, and a third level front balcony overlooking Downtown and Midtown.  The home has quite a presence when viewed from the street and it is already a neighborhood favorite!
