The 26th annual Decatur Arts Festival is this weekend in Downtown Decatur. The festival kicks off Friday evening with an ArtWalk featuring 24 exhibits and receptions at local shops, restaurants and galleries around downtown.

On Saturday and Sunday, there is an Artist Market on the square featuring over 165 artists and craftsmen selected through a competitive jury process. There is also a fine arts exhibit at the Dalton Gallery at Agnes Scott College showcasing an intriguing collection of paintings, prints, photographs, sculpture and mixed media.

In addition to visual arts, there will be exhibits featuring literary arts, performing arts and dance.  The music line up includes drumming and local singers and bands including Kristin Bush of the grammy award winning group Sugarland.

It’s very easy to get to the festival as the Decatur MARTA Station is located in downtown.  You can also bike to the festival as the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition is providing a free bike valet located at N. McDonough Street and the Square.
