Are you looking for something to do this weekend?  Have you missed going to neighborhood arts festivals this Winter?  Escape the cold at the first annual Callawolde Arts Festival featuring 80+ artists in the historic Callanwolde mansion.  The festival will feature painters, photographers, sculptors, glass artists, jewelers and more.  There will be artist demonstrations, live acoustic music, gourmet food trucks and dance performances.

Callanwolde was the home of the family of Charles Howard Candler (1878-1957) from 1920 until 1959.  Howard Candler was the oldest son of Asa Griggs Candler (1851-1929), the Atlanta pharmacist who, in 1891 purchased the rights to the formula for Coca-Cola, which had been developed by another Atlanta pharmacist, John S. Pemberton, in 1886 as a tonic for most common ailments.  For more information about the Candler family and the history of Callanwolde, visit http://callanwolde.org/about/history/

The 2014 Callanwolde Arts Festival is organized by the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces, and proceeds from the event will benefit a scholarship fund for local artists that will be administered by the Georgia Foundation for Public Spaces.
