Last night, Epic Development attended a reception for the new Atlanta Police Department Path Force at Parish restaurant.  The new unit is being funded by a 1.8 million U.S. Department of Justice COPS grant and consists of 15 officers and 3 supervisors who all have served in the military, a requirement of the federal grant.

The Path Force Unit patrols seven days a week along the three completed trails of the Atlanta BeltLine, the Eastside TrailWest End Trail and the Northside Trail, as well as the interim hiking trails and the nearly complete Southwest Connector Trail. It also patrols adjacent parks including Historic Fourth Ward ParkD.H. Stanton Park,Boulevard Crossing Park and Piedmont Park.

We met Lieutenant Jeff Baxter, the commanding officer of this new unit, and many of the officers that will be patrolling the BeltLine.  All of them seemed excited about the new unit and the BeltLine.

Epic Development is excited to be apart of the Atlanta BeltLine.  We have adopted a portion of the Eastside Trail from the Ralph McGill Bridge to the Freedom Parkway Bridge.  We are currently planning another work day on the BeltLine for September.  To join us, contact Scott Eaves at 404-518-3820 or scott@epicdevelopment.com.
