The median sales price for homes in Metro Atlanta (Cobb, Cherokee, Dekalb, Douglas, Fulton, Forsyth, Gwinnett & Paulding Counties) increased by 42.5% in the first quarter of 2013 in comparison to the first quarter of 2012.  The median sales price increased from $120K to $171K!  In Metro Atlanta, some areas have seen more improvement than others.  For example, North Atlanta and the northern suburbs (Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, GA 400 corridor) are rebounding faster than some of the outlying areas (Acworth, Stone Mountain or Fairburn).

That old saying “pictures speak louder than words” still holds true today.  Check out this graph, courtesy of Keller Williams Realty, showing the median sales price from 2011-2013.
