Last week, the Epic Development Design Team attended the 2013 National Association of Home Builders International Builders’ Show.  We attended numerous education sessions and meetings as well as networked with our colleagues and vendors in the industry.  One of the highlights of the trip was the 2013 New American Home located on the Rio Secco Golf Course.  The home was built to showcase NAHB supplier members’ products and to demonstrate “Builders’ Best Practices.”  This year’s New American Home is a desert-contemporary just under $6,000 square feet with a special emphasis on water features throughout the home.

The home has bodies of water throughout it.  The main level has a water feature that runs from the front of the home to the pool at the rear which features a “floating” cabana.  The master bedroom wing stretches from the front to the back and features an indoor as well as an outdoor bedroom area and living space.  The other side of the main level features the main living area including kitchen, formal dining room, formal living room and outdoor living spaces and pools.  The second floor features additional bedrooms and entertaining spaces.  The home also has a sky deck and full basement.
